Waukesha VGF 24SE

Waukesha VGF 24SE, like all gas engines in the VGF line, are high-speed engines available in two modifications: one for operating on a rich mixture and another for a lean mixture, both suitable for low input fuel pressure. VGF engines allow short-term operation (no more than 2 hours per day) with an overload of up to 10% of the rated value. Similar to the VHP series engines, the VGF series underwent significant scientific research at the beginning of the new century. In March 2003, Waukesha announced the launch of its new modification, known as the Extender Series, into mass production. 

The Extender Series features a significantly increased oil pan volume, effectively doubling the service intervals for oil changes. Moreover, the pan is outfitted with convenient covers, enabling servicing of the oil pump, main bearings, and connecting rod bearings without requiring disassembly. It’s worth noting that the enlarged size of the oil pan significantly diminishes vibrations. The new modification incorporates valve stem polishing and chrome plating, along with the addition of lubrication to the valve guides. It’s noteworthy that the engine breather is fitted with a built-in vacuum regulator to mitigate high pressure in the crankcase, thereby preventing oil leakage.
