Waukesha 16V 275GL+ serves as a key mechanical driver in gas compression operations within the oil and gas (O&G) sector (gas injection into reservoirs, transportation of oil and gas, and various functions within petrochemical operations, among other uses).
The design of Waukesha 16V 275GL+ is derived from Waukesha ATGL series units manufactured by Waukesha between 1987 and 2007. While most 275GL+ engines serve as mechanical actuators for compressor equipment, they are occasionally utilized for energy generation as well. 275GL+ boasts an exceptional service life of 100,000 hours before requiring an overhaul.
275GL+ series engines incorporate several innovations that have notably enhanced engine reliability and elevated their operational performance. Specifically, the cooling system in 275GL+ engines has undergone modernization, including the addition of valve seat cooling channels to the circuit. These channels facilitate the removal of heat from the combustion zone of the fuel mixture. This design feature has enabled the extension of service intervals to record values. The repair of intake and exhaust valves is only required after 40,000 hours of operation of Waukesha 275GL+ series engines, setting a remarkable standard unmatched by any other engine to date.
The engine is equipped with a new ESM2 control unit.
